Purpose Driven Life - Day ONE

Ok guys, i'm reading this book about finding why one is really on earth for. In my case the question will therefore be "Why on earth am i here for" It's a 40 days journey, one chapter a day, so you can take the time to really think and search for your answers... As they suggest one to find people to discuss it, i thought i just might share it with you and try to make the best out of my journey. Nat, sa se bagay pa'w yo menm! You don't have the book, but i'll try to quote the most possible so you can follow the best possible.
So here i am, first day, wondering what the hell is this Rick Warren (the author) going to tell me that i haven't read in all the new age self help books outhere! Well, from the first line i was simply shocked!!! When searching for your purpose, the first place you would tend to look would be yourself. No? Well, this is what the first chapter is about, friends.
I was all puzzled reading the following: "The purpose of your life is far greater than your own personal fullfillment, your peace of mind, or even your happiness. It's far greater than your family, your career, or even your wildest dreams and ambitions..."Typically, we all seem to begin at the wrong starting point "Ourselves". What we want to do, what we wanna be, what we should do, our dreams, our ambitions, our future. But as it turns out to be, "focusing on ourselves will never reveal our life's purpose" because the Bible says "Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life"This is a whole new way to look at things. But let's face it, it could be true. There are things that we have absolutely no control over. There are things that money can't buy or give you. There are things that just happen and you're not allowed anything else but to bow and accept. There are things that we won't ever be able to explain. Life for itself!!! The human body is such a complexe creation, there will always be things to discover about it, about it's functioning. So who would know best if not the Creator. He has the manual! So isn't it to Him we should turn to when something is wrong? This is not an easy journey, i know. And i'm trying to stay as neutral as possible because i respect each one of you faith and beliefs. This book is certainly about God. About faith... About trust... From this first chapter, i was to learn, that finding the purpose of my life is not about knowing who i am and what i'm dreaming of. It's not about fullfilling my dreams and ambitions. It's not even about finding my peace of mind, or being happy. Finding my purpose in life is not even my task as i see it. It's more of the trust i should put on God and let Him accomplish whatever purpose he had set for me, from the start. As i came to this conclusion, i coudn't keep on wondering what had been my baby's purpose in her so short life. Maybe it had been to bring where i am actually... searching for the light... dealing a new deck of cards, and trying to find answers. "You were made by God and for God- and until you understand that, life will never make sense."
I'll leave you with three tasks:
1) Point to ponder "It's not about me"
2) Verse to remember " Everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him" Colossians 1:16b
3) Question to consider: In spite of all the advertising around me (about you!!!), how can I remind myself that life is really about living for God, not myself?I'll be sincere with you, i don't know where i'm heading with this book, but why not... What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. So if you want to be part of it, i'll be glad to discuss it with you. You can write me back either on HI5 or my personal email kaiafe08@gmail.com

"Being Happy": what does that mean? Do you really think you can be happy by futfilling your dreams and ambitions? I think only when you have GOD in your life you can be peaceful and Happy.

Commenting on "Being Happy"...well about 7 years ago, I was being tested by life, lol and responded with a lot of grief, guilt and anxiety until a priest told me: God wants you to be happy, there is not one sentence in the bible where God did not want us to be happy. It is our duty to be happy", til this day that's my motto: It is my Godly duty to be happy ;o)

Indeed God wants us to be happy, but i think it´s not in this world. Being happy in this world means fulfilling dreams, ambitions, all the earthty self indulgments. It´s not possible to be happy in this life. You have temporary satisfactions, but you´re not happy... always have a piece missing in the puzzle. You never feel complete... Am i wrong? You wanted this, you finally get it but don´t want it no more but something else. Doesn´t it sound familiar to you? From how i remember it felt to have God close at heart, i know He´s the path to real happiness... But as i say, i don´t think it´s on earth. Yes, God want us to be happy, just make sure He´s happy with how you´re happy ;)
